Out of the Woods Studio
I first discovered the art of jewelry making over 20 years ago in a small town in Southern Indiana. Surrounded by the beautiful Hoosier National Forest, my work was inspired by the colors and shapes that I could see in the great outdoors. When I moved to West Virginia the form of my work took on a wild and untamed feel, moved by the larger expanse of woods and wilderness I found myself enjoying.

What started as a self-taught craft has grown in maturity as I have stretched to embrace metalsmithing, enameling, and bead weaving. I strive to create one-of-a kind pieces fashioned from an eclectic mix of semi-precious stones, sustainably harvested wood, Swarovski crystals, a menagerie of glass beads, seed beads, and metals. I especially love creating intricate pieces where my imagination can run freely and there is the opportunity for happy accident and grace.

Mother Nature is a continual and ever-changing source of inspiration, and I am completely smitten! Seven years ago, I began my journey as a beekeeper and quickly became enamored with these tiny ecological dynamos. These mini-muses have expanded my work to include candle making and honey-based treats, always with a focus of life, deep in the woods.

I want my work to provide all who see it a chance to relax and connect to the natural world. And, if they choose, to carry a piece of wildness with them wherever they go. My work can be enjoyed at Artists at Work in Elkins, WV.
