Pottery by Macie
I have always had a passion for the arts and took many art classes in school, however when I headed off to WVU after graduating from Elkins High School, it was to become a Physical Therapist. In my first year of college I took a non-majors ceramics course and I was hooked. It made me remember how much I loved art and so I made the tough choice to switch majors and I’ve never looked back.

I’ve been working in clay and teaching art classes locally through various programs since 2015. My art was my side gig as I worked “day jobs” up until 2020 when I made the switch to making and teaching art being my full-time job.

I dabble in all sorts of art but pottery is my main love. I enjoy being able to make beautiful objects that become part of people's everyday routines. There are so many different tools and techniques to learn that pottery is the one thing I don’t think I will ever get bored of doing. My style is always evolving but I’m most interested in color, texture, and graphic elements, and I hope that comes through in my work!
